We are using a combination of History of Classical Music by Beautiful Feet and Harmony Art Mom’s music appreciation plans for our Music Appreciation studies this year. We just finished up Vivaldi, and we are gearing up for Bach.
*Note, we do Music Appreciation for 30-45 minutes each week. The boys are also required to do outside reading and a written summary at the end of the unit.
In addition to completing lessons 7 – 10 in HOCM, we will do the following activities:
- Listen to Classics for Kids.
- Boys will read a biography and write a summary. Isaac’s summary is to be 1/2 – 1 page long. Logan’s is to be 1 to 2 pages long.
- Emma and I will read and lapbook Bach’s Big Adventures.
- Emma will color this page to add to her notebook.
I highly recommend Beautiful Feet’s History of Classical Music. It is a great curriculum. Some of the activities assigned in this unit include vocabulary, mapping Germany, listening to music by Bach, copying scripture that pertains to his life. My children and I really enjoy it.
